Pubs have served an essential role in America since its inception. Taverns were the breeding ground of the revolution. From polling houses for elections to the birthplace of the United States Marine Corps, grand celebration halls to places of remembrance of those who have passed but are not forgotten and near in our thoughts.
Our historic revival-style building was built in 1927 and served as a meeting hall for a local area Masonic lodge. One could say that the Scottish stonemasons were the original 'freemasons,' so it's a propitious moment for us to be part of the storied history of 37 Church St.
The Scotsman Public House represents parts of the old world and parts of the new. So as we tip a pint and pay homage to our Scottish roots let us also give a kind nod to all the Scots-Irish and their ancestors that settled hundreds of years ago here in the beautiful backcountry of North Carolina.
We are proud to call Waynesville our home and look forward to serving you as our guests.
